Welcome to the redesigned CPRS-Hamilton website!
What a great way to welcome members to 2007 with the redesigned CPRS-Hamilton website!
This updated website is long overdue so I would like to thank all CPRS-Hamilton members for their patience. We are very excited that CPRS Hamilton is now able to offer an innovative, two-way interactive web site that allows you to network and develop professionally as you practice strategic and ethical public relations. I would also like to acknowledge the work of Michael Lund, Web Site Chair; Liliana Busnello, Vice President & Chair, Newsletter and Ann Lamanes, Chair, Marketing, Promotions & Programs for the hard work they have undertaken over the past four months to develop and launch the web site.
The theme for CPRS Hamilton in 2006-2007 is one of renewal. We have spent the better part of the fall working on establishing our strategic priorities, developing our mission to promote the profession of public relations, growing our membership and providing opportunities for professional development for PR practitioners in Hamilton and throughout Halton, Niagara and South Western Ontario.
Our first strategic priority was to develop our mission, vision and values which you can access on this web site. Our second was to launch our enhanced web site and we are delivering on that goal. Our third goal – in progress - is to grow and retain membership through programming and networking events, our mentoring program, engaging in recruitment and retention programs over the next year and providing enhanced on-line communications. This new web site provides features our members have asked for: job listings, membership information, articles on public relations and on-line registration – so start registering for the Pinnacle Awards now!
We have also brought stability to our financial picture with the generous cheque we received from CPRS National for over $19,000 which reflects the tremendous success of the June 2006 CPRS National Conference, hosted by CPRS Hamilton. The hard work by Past President Kim Lambe and her committee has endowed this society with funding that gives us the opportunity to develop a legacy from the Conference and invest in CPRS Hamilton’s future.
Enjoy the new website – we look forward to hearing your comments!
