2008 Pinnacle Award Winners - A Memorable Night For CPRS At The Ancaster Old Mill

Pinnacle AwardHamilton, ON (April 4, 2008) - The Canadian Public Relations Society Hamilton Chapter, held its annual Pinnacle Awards at the Old Mill in Ancaster on April 2. The Pinnacle Awards is the premiere event for public relations practitioners throughout the Hamilton area. The event recognized outstanding achievement in the practice of public relations including communication management, external communications, special events, audio visual and more.

The evening was complimented with and a memorable speech by three-time Olympian, Joanne Malar who spoke on the topic of this year’s theme RACE of Distinction. Malar compared her work ethic as an Olympic athlete to RACE, which is a widely known acronym in the public relations industry meaning Research, Analysis, Communication and Evaluation. ­

“It is wonderful opportunity to showcase and pay tribute to those individuals in the profession that exemplify excellence,” said CPRS Hamilton President, Carleen Caroll.

The Pinnacle Awards were established in 1990 and recognize excellence in public relations and communication management throughout the Hamilton-Wentworth, Halton and Niagara regions. Highly coveted, the Pinnacle Awards honour communication skills, public relations programs and tactics created and implemented by CPRS Hamilton members from all sectors of the PR profession: government, business, trade associations, industry, agency and not-for-profit organizations.
